Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) training program is an advantage
  • Active Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or license preferred
  • Physically capable of performing assigned caregiving duties
  • Knowledge of proper infection control and safe handling of bodily fluids and hazardous materials
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must meet all employment and personnel requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Follow established safety procedures while delivering care
  • Communicate any changes in the client's condition to the supervising nurse
  • Perform assigned tasks according to the individualized care plan developed by the healthcare team
  • Accurately document services provided and submit required reports on time
  • Observe and report changes in the client's physical or emotional condition
  • Maintain compliance with state regulations governing Home Health Aide services
  • Support clients with daily living activities while maintaining their dignity, comfort, and independence

Scope of Practice
Caregivers/Home Health Aides provide non-medical personal care and assistance as outlined in the client's care plan. Responsibilities may include:

  •  Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene 
  •  Helping with mobility, transfers, and ambulation 
  •  Assisting with toileting and incontinence care 
  •  Preparing and serving meals based on dietary guidelines 
  •  Providing medication reminders (without administering medication, unless permitted by law and employer policy) 
  •  Performing light housekeeping related to the client's care 
  •  Assisting with laundry and linen changes 
  •  Accompanying clients to appointments or errands, when assigned 
  •  Providing companionship and emotional support 
  •  Monitoring and reporting changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or agency 
  •  Recording care provided according to agency policies 
  •  Following infection control, safety, and confidentiality guidelines at all times
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
